Weather forces course change for 2019
For only the third time in the 32 year history of the Kepler Challenge, the race course for the 2019 event has been changed.
This decision was made by the Kepler Challenge Safety team who met this evening.
It is not a decision that has been made lightly.
The intended course will be from the Start line at the Control Gates up to Luxmore Hut and back to the Control gates carrying on through and out to Motorau Hut before turning around to return to the Finish line at the Control Gates.
This exact course is still dependant on access to Luxmore Hut, further information will be given at the Safety Briefing on Friday evening.
It is vital that all competitors attend the briefing at 7.30pm at the Events Centre on Friday 6 December, 2019.
At this stage, the Luxmore Grunt course remains unchanged, but is still subject to review dependant on weather conditions on race day.
The Kepler Challenge Race Committee is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable event despite the challenging weather conditions that we are currently experiencing in Fiordland.
